Despite being oppressed, exploited, and suffering the most injustice, women always demand liberation and are ready to follow the revolution. Since 1927, mass organizations began to form and attract a large number of Vietnamese women such as: Red Cong Hoi, Red Nong Hoi, mutual aid groups, vocational training groups and organizations of their own nature. of women.
On February 3, 1930, the Indochina Communist Party was established. The Party’s first platform stated: “Men and women have equal rights”. The Party soon realized that Vietnamese women were an important force of the revolution and set out the mission: The Party must liberate women, linking national liberation, class liberation with women’s liberation. The Party set a goal that Vietnamese women must join revolutionary organizations (trade unions, agricultural associations) and establish separate organizations for women to attract women of all classes to participate in the revolution.
On October 20, 1930, the Vietnamese Anti-Imperialist Women’s Association (now renamed the Vietnamese Women’s Association) was officially established to mark this event. The Communist Party of Vietnam has decided to choose October 20 every year as the traditional day of this organization, and also considers this a day to celebrate and honor Vietnamese women, named “Vietnamese Women’s Day”. “.
